Project definition
VidAAs Citizen Laboratories are part of the Navarre Network of Citizen Experimentation and Collaboration Laboratories, an initiative promoted by the Open Government and Citizen Services Department of the Government of Navarre that builds on and continues the process launched in 2023. Its purpose is to foster open participation spaces where citizens, social organisations, public administrations, businesses, and knowledge stakeholders work together to identify shared challenges, generate ideas, and develop innovative solutions with a positive impact on the community.
Within this framework, the VidAAs Centre operates as a Living Lab, providing the community with experimentation spaces, participatory methodologies, and technological resources to design, test, and validate solutions in real-world settings. The project aims to strengthen social innovation, inclusion, personal autonomy, and community well-being through people-centred co-creation processes.
Objectives
- Promote the active participation of citizens in identifying needs and developing solutions to improve collective well-being and community life.
- Consolidate the VidAAs Centre as a benchmark for social innovation and collaborative experimentation through the Living Lab methodology.
- Foster collaboration among citizens, third-sector organisations, public administrations, universities, and businesses to generate shared knowledge and promote open innovation.
- Facilitate the validation of technological and social solutions in real-world environments to support their transfer and adoption across the region.
- Promote projects that contribute to social inclusion, community participation, care, accessibility, digital inclusion, sustainability, and the improvement of people’s quality of life.
- Develop initiatives with replication and scalability potential that generate a positive and sustainable impact in Navarre.
Actions
- Launching open citizen calls for the submission of social innovation ideas and projects.
- Selecting proposals related to areas such as social inclusion, community care, citizen participation, digital inclusion, personal autonomy, social cohesion, the prevention of unwanted loneliness, and community sustainability.
- Creating multidisciplinary teams composed of project promoters and collaborators to collectively develop the selected proposals.
- Organising co-creation, prototyping, and experimentation workshops at the VidAAs Centre facilities.
- Using experimentation spaces and technological resources to validate solutions in real-world conditions together with end users.
- Publicly presenting and disseminating results, encouraging knowledge sharing and creating new opportunities for collaboration.
